Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Do not attempt this test on VS and VT (or later) models, as these vehicles are not designed to emmit flash codes and attempting to test may result in turning the SRS light on.

• Each code only plays through once, to attain next code, repeat instruction No. 2 until first code is found again.

1 Turn ignition ON.

2 Link terminals 5 & 13 using your own wire link, (Click here for details) , for 2-5 seconds only then remove. Codes will be displayed on the SRS light

3 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.

4 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description.

• The code is a straight count of flashes, 5 flashes represents code 5.
