• This connector is on Volvo 700, 850, 940/960 from 1994 onwards.

Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

1 Warm the vehicle to operating temperature if possible.

2 Stop vehicle, place in park or neutral and turn ignition OFF.

3 Connect Selecter Cable into terminal 'B5' .

4 Turn the ignition ON.

5 Press and hold the Test Button for 2 seconds.

6 Codes will be emitted via the LED on the connector.

7 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.

8 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description(s).

NOTE:Only one code is outputted at a time. Press the Test Button again to get the next code.

Code Format Diagram

Code Format Description

• Each code is made up of three series of flashes.

• The first series indicates the 'hundreds' digit.

• The second series indicates the 'tens' digit.

• The third series indicates the 'ones' digit.

• A long pause separates each of the series of flashes.

• Code Format Diagram shows code No. 232.
