Tips:

• You may need to use the magnetic strip and metal bracket to position the light sensor over the computer LED.

Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

Note:If after following the instructions below the LED on the TCM computer does not flash it means there are no fault codes.

1 Warm the vehicle to operating temperature then switch ignition off.

2 Turn ignition ON, the LED should be flashing.

3 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.

4 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description(s).

Code Format Description

• Each code is made up of two series of flashes.

• The long flashes indicate the 'tens' digits.

• The short flashes indicate the 'ones' digits.

• A long pause separates each code sequence.

• Code Format Diagram shows code No. 12.

• If no long flashes are detected, the code is a straight count of short flashes.
