Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

Note:Only one code can be accessed at a time, repeat instruction 4 to get the next code.

1 Drive the vehicle until it reaches operating temperature.

2 Stop vehicle, place it in part or neutral and turn ignition OFF.

3 Turn on the ignition, and check the ABS light illuminates.

4 Ground connector as shown on the diagramfor 3 seconds.

5 Codes will be emitted via ABS light on dashboard display.

6 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.

7 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description(s).

Code Format Diagram

Code Format Description

• Each code is made up of two series of flashes.

• The long flashes indicate the 'tens' digits.

• The short flashes indicate the 'ones' digits.

• A 1.5 second pause separates each code repetition.

• Code sequence starts with code 12 and finnishes with code 11.

• Code Format Diagram shows code No. 12.
