Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

Note:If this method of connecting terminals does not cause the ABS warning light to flash, go back and try the other method.

1 Connect terminal 8 and 12with your own wire link, (Click here for details) ,for 3 seconds then remove

2 Turn ignition ON, the ABS warning light should be flashing.

3 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.

4 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description.

Code Format Description

• A long flash indicates the start of the code sequence.

• The code is made up of four groups of short flashes each representing a digit.

• A 1.2 second pauses separate each group of flashes

• Only one code is displayed at a time. To display next code, re-connect terminals as above.

• If no more fault codes, ABS warning light will continuously flash 1.2 second flashes with 1.2 second pauses.

• Code Format Diagram shows code No. 1231.
