Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

1 Drive vehicle until it reaches operating temperature.

2 Stop the vehicle, place it in park or neutral and turn ignition OFF.

3 Codes can be displayed on the Vehicle Condition Monitor (VCM), which is mounted below the instrument panel.

4 Switch ignition off for 5 seconds minimum, then switch to position II.

5 Press the VCM button on the dash and the codes will be displayed.

6 If an asterisk appears it indicates more than one fault code.

7 Switching the ignition off ends fault code retrieval.

8 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description(s).

To move to the next screen click on the Continue button
